how much does a publicist for world music and new age cost?

ours is $500 to $2,500 a month with a 3-month minimum, $1,500 to $7,500 for a release. the fee is set by the size of the campaign and given to you in writing before you start. a single announcement on its own is the press release.

what do world music and new age outlets ask for?

Songlines takes a streaming link marked for review, covers recent and upcoming albums, and does not review singles. World Music Central prefers a physical CD, and asks for a press release and a cover of at least 800 pixels. Hearts of Space asks for one released CD by post with a one-sheet, and plays no low-resolution mp3 files. Echoes prefers a download link to AIFF or WAV files and also accepts a CD.

when should the campaign start?

2 to 3 months before the release date. the first weeks go to the list and the release, and the outlets that publish a lead time ask for music two weeks to three months ahead.
