how much does a publicist for Americana and roots cost?

ours is $500 to $2,500 a month with a 3-month minimum, $1,500 to $7,500 for a release. the fee is set by the size of the campaign and given to you in writing before you start. a single announcement on its own is the press release.

what do Americana and roots outlets ask for?

Americana UK assigns albums 5 to 6 weeks before the release date, and asks for a download link, a full press release and a streaming link. No Depression takes press releases with the release date by email to its editors. Folk Alley takes WAV files and liner notes by download link, or a CD by post, and does not reply to each submission. Saving Country Music takes a streaming link six weeks to three months before release, and reviews only after the album is out. WMOT Roots Radio prefers a CD by post.

when should the campaign start?

2 to 3 months before the release date. the first weeks go to the list and the release, and the outlets that publish a lead time ask for music two weeks to three months ahead.
