questions.
what is an EPK?
an electronic press kit. one page with your bio, music, photos, video, press quotes, show dates and contact, built so a journalist, a booker or a festival can read it and download what they need without writing to you first.
what should a musician's EPK include?
a one-sentence introduction, a short bio and a long bio, playable music, press-resolution photos and artwork, a live video, press quotes with links, upcoming and past shows, and a contact for press and for booking. the checklist on this page has all of it.
how much does an EPK cost?
$500 with us, as a page on your own domain, ready one week from your files. the checklist is free.
should an EPK be a PDF or a web page?
a web page. it plays music and video, it is one link, it can be updated the day something changes, and it never bounces as an attachment. keep a one-page PDF only for the people who ask for one.
what is the difference between an EPK and a one-sheet?
a one-sheet is a single page about one release: the artwork, the track list, the selling points and the contact. an EPK is about you, and stays up between releases.
why on my own domain?
the link is yours and it never changes. a profile on a platform can be redesigned, paywalled or shut down, and every link you ever sent goes with it.
an EPK gives press somewhere to land. the press campaign is what sends them there, and the press release is the single announcement.
